Islands & Volcanoes Walk-Around

Wednesday, April 8, 2026  |  6pm-8pm
Class location:  Some Good Wine

Islands are a special habitat for growing grapes. When the vineyards hug the coast, the grapes soak up the sun by day, and enjoy cool breezes by night, courtesy of the cooling effects of the ocean. The sun allows complex flavors to develop, while the evening chill helps retain acidity, imparting freshness to the wines, and balance.

Volcanoes offer the same benefits, but here, it’s the high altitude that sends the thermometer south at night. Volcanoes also contain soils poor in nutrients, but high in mineral content, forcing the vines to struggle, and hunt for what they need. In turn, they produce grapes with more intensity, more stuffing, more of the good stuff.

On April 8, we invite you to come and experience these magical wines for yourself.  This is a walk-around event, with 20+ wines to taste, cheeses from Murray's paired to the wines, and multiple stations for you to visit along with interactive components and chances to win valuable prizes!

Feel free to arrive anytime between 6pm and 8pm, or come at 6pm and stay the whole evening!  Andrew and several industry veterans will be on hand to discuss the wines, and help you discover which best suit your palate.

I guarantee you there is no better way to experience this many unique and special wines, from all over the globe, and all in one night for only $30.  We hope you can attend, and thank you.

PS - The exact line-up is TBD, but likely candidates include: Canary Islands, Mount Etna, Monte Vulture, Santorini, Corsica, New Zealand, Sardinia, Sierra de Gredos, and more. A mix of whites and reds, all compelling, and perfect for year-round drinking.
