How Wine Is Made
Wednesday, January 28, 2026, 6:15pm - 8pm
Class location: Some Good Wine
A fun evening, where we dig deep into a wine, and discover why it tastes the way it does. What decisions were made that contributed to what's in the glass? Could it have turned out different? Why and how? Do you like what you taste, and how can you find more wines out there that fit your own preferences?
To do this, we will taste through a line up of wines from Workshop Cellars, the winery I started in 2020. We'll talk about the weather, we'll rap about yeast, punch downs, and all the things producers fret over. Most of us strive to 'let the soil do the talking', but what does that really mean?
To help further the lesson, I will pour a few bottles from other producers as counterpoints. Not just any wines, but good wines, some of which I prefer to my own. But you, of course, will be the judge of what you like and don't like. This class will just help you get to the why of it all.
As always, amazing breads and cheeses will be served. I hope to see you all, and thank you!
